PHOENIX -- Enjoy the beautiful weekend around Arizona, because some colder weather is on the way.
We’re not going to see any major change in our weather through Monday, with Valley highs in the 70s and overnight lows in the 50s. We will pick up some high clouds from time to time, but there’s no chance for precipitation.
That’s going to change toward the middle of next week. A storm system from Canada is due to arrive late in the day on Wednesday, bringing us cooler air, some breezy conditions and a decent chance for snow in the mountains and scattered showers in the deserts.
The timing of the storm is still unclear, but what is clear is that temperatures will be coming down rather drastically, from highs in the mid-70s early in the week to mid-50s by Friday.
Right now, most of the potential for precipitation appears to be for the mountains of Arizona, especially eastern AZ, but it’s early in the forecast process.
