SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- A water main break at the intersection of Pinnacle Peak and Pima Roads means some weekend road restrictions in Scottsdale. The restrictions are expected to be in effect until noon on Saturday.
Southbound Pima Road is closed at the intersection of Pinnacle Peak Road and Pima Road. Traffic is restricted to one lane starting approximately 500 ft. south of Happy Valley Road, and will be diverted to westbound Pinnacle Peak Road.
Northbound Pima Road will be restricted to one lane starting approximately 300 ft. south of Pinnacle Peak Road, and will reopen to three lanes after the intersection.
Eastbound Pinnacle Peak Road is closed to through traffic. Lanes are open for normal flow of traffic east of the intersection of Pinnacle Peak and Pima Roads.
Westbound Pinnacle Peak Road is closed to through traffic. Traffic is being diverted to northbound Pima Road.
Traffic managers advise drivers to use Scottsdale Road as an alternate north/south route. Happy Valley or Jomax are good east/west alternates.
"We will continue to change signal timing to help reduce the delays," says Bruce Dressel of Scottsdale Traffic Management Center.
