Father, daughter forced to evacuate burning house

TEMPE -- A man and his daughter were able to flee from a fire at their Tempe home.

The first-alarm fire broke out shortly before 11 a.m. Friday at their home near Warner Road and McClintock Drive.

Fire officials tell 3TV the homeowner and his teenage daughter had arrived at their home and smelled smoke. They were able to leave the scene uninjured.

Detectives believe the fire may have started in the garage.
