PHOENIX -- A teenage boy had to be rescued Tuesday after taking a bad fall in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve.
The Phoenix Fire Department says the 17-year-old fell off a cliff at the preserve at 40th Street and Mountain View.
The teen fell down15 feet onto jagged rocks, then tumbled another 15 feet down the mountain.
He wasn't able to walk, so rescuers had to use a helicopter to lift him to safety. The rescue took two hours.
The young hiker is expected to be okay. We're told he just needed some stitches at the hospital.
