TEMPE - A teen girl has admitted to stabbing her boyfriend to death in his Tempe home as she was being thrown out of the house.
Police say Baylee White, 19, got into a fight with Jonathan Hogue, 27, in the early morning hours of Sunday at a home in the 1800 block of East Don Carlos Avenue south of University Drive and McClintock.
Police received a report about a man who had been stabbed a little after 4 a.m. on Sunday.
Sgt. Steve Carbajal of the Tempe Police Department told 3TV, "I don't know what led up to that, we're still trying to figure out some of those pieces but as he's trying to get her to leave that's when this altercation becomes a little physical and ultimately Jonathan is stabbed by Baylee."
After further investigation, detectives determined that Hogue was trying to remove White from his house when she picked up a knife and stabbed him. He was taken to a hospital where he died.
Police say White admitted to the stabbing. She was arrested and booked into Tempe City Jail and faces one count of second-degree murder.
Prosecutors asked for a bond of $700,000 when White made her initial appearance before a judge. That amount was set at $300,000.
