Suspects attack female clerk, steal cigarettes and cash

MESA -- Mesa police are asking for the public's help to find two robbers who attacked a convenience store clerk.

The robbery occurred at approximately 3 a.m. Monday at the Shell gas station at McKellips Road and Center Street.

Police say the suspects physically assaulted the female clerk during the robbery.

The suspects took cigarettes and cash then fled the store on foot.

One suspect is described and an Hispanic male in his early 20s with a stocky build. He was last seen wearing a black, gray and white hooded sweatshirt with black pants.

The second suspect is described as an Hispanic or Caucasian male, 20 to 30 years old with a stocky build. He was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with a bandanna covering his face and torn blue jeans.
