PHOENIX -- Pizzeria Bianco has been featured on Oprah and has been dubbed the best pizza in America. Now the restaurant's owner and chef, Chris Bianco, has been mentioned on a recent Zagat report of the six chefs who changed pizza.
The Zagat list includes the first man to open a pizzeria in the U.S., the deep-dish pizza creator, Wolfgang Puck who is famous for his gourmet pizzas, and Phoenix's own Bianco. Famous for his pizza cooked in a wood-fire oven, Bianco is called a "wood-fired pizza savant" by Zagat.
"We have been very blessed," Bianco said. "A lot of people enjoy what we do."
Pizzas at Pizzeria Bianco are made with the freshest ingredients by Bianco himself.
On busy nights, guests sometimes wait a few hours to get food at Pizzeria Bianco. The restaurant recently opened for lunch hours and opened a new location at Town and Country on 20th Street and Camelback Road, which has helped cut the wait time.
