PHOENIX -- Strong storms swept through portions of the Valley late Sunday afternoon.
There were numerous reports of wind damage, such as trees down, following wind gusts near 60 mph.
The storms also contained a lot of rain. The National Weather Service reports a rain gauge at McClintock Drive and Warner Road in Tempe got about 1 inch of rain in just eight minutes.
There were numerous reports of street flooding and power outages because of the storm in the East Valley.
For the rest of the night, things should be quieting down. However, the chance for monsoon storms remains in the forecast tonight through Wednesday night.
Other rainfall amounts included Gilbert at 0.83 inch, and Chandler, Tempe and Ahwatukee at about 0.3 inch of rain.
