AVONDALE, Ariz. -- A man threatened to shoot employees during a bank robbery in Avondale Monday morning, according to authorities.
Avondale police said the suspect entered the Fry's grocery store near Buckeye Road and 115th Avenue shortly before noon on Monday. He walked to the Wells Fargo branch inside and demanded money from a teller.
Although he threatened employees, no weapon was displayed.
The teller gave the suspect a known quantity of cash and he fled the store on foot.
Police said the suspect also may be responsible for the robbery of the Wells Fargo at 83rd Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road in Phoenix on April 13.
The suspect is described as a white male, 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet 10 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall, 180 to 190 pounds with a medium build, sandy-blond hair, blue eyes and a beard.
He was wearing a blue University of Arizona baseball hat, long-sleeve button-up dress shirt with a navy blue T-shirt underneath, khaki cargo-style shorts and sandals.
