PHOENIX -- A patient at Phoenix Children’s Hospital has quite the story to tell after winning a high-profile game of air hockey.

Chance Peterson’s first eight years on Earth haven’t been easy.

In 2010, Peterson was diagnosed with a chronic kidney obstruction that has forced him to undergo several surgeries and spend lots of time at the hospital.

But Peterson’s health issues haven’t kept him from being a productive 8-year-old.

Earlier this year, Peterson became the youngest member of Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s advisory board.

As part of his new role, Peterson invited Gov. Jan Brewer to a birthday party at the hospital, and said if she came he would challenge her to a game of air hockey.

Brewer came to the party this week and accepted Peterson’s challenge.

“I’ll be back, I’ll be back,” proclaimed Brewer after being defeated.

Peterson will no doubt be feeling pretty good about himself this week thanks to a Governor who was willing to be a good sport.
