MESA, Ariz. - A former Arizona State University football player was arrested and is now facing some serious charges related to kidnapping his girlfriend two months ago.

Detectives said after being on the run since the crime, Jarrell Holman has been booked into the Fourth Avenue jail.

Investigators say for the last two months, the former ASU football player, has been hiding out with friends, jumping from house to house.

U.S. Marshals say they finally tracked him down to a home in Mesa.

While he once was an ASU football safety he’s now an accused criminal, charged with robbery, kidnapping and aggravated assault.

Investigators said Holman and his girlfriend came to Phoenix from Vegas and got into a fight, but when the girlfriend went to a bus stop and tried to leave they say Holman refused to let her go.

Instead investigators say he beat her up, put her in a headlock and drove down the street with his girlfriend hanging out the open door.

Detectives said the girlfriend claims she had to hold onto his dreadlocks and the car just to keep from falling onto the pavement.

Eventually Holman did stop, dropped her onto the street and drove away.

Holman's girlfriend did go straight to police after it happened, but that Holman originally fled to Las Vegas, eventually returning to the Valley to hide.

A judge has set his bond at $20,000.
