PHOENIX -- A vehicle rollover accident near 68th Street and Thunderbird Tuesday left five people injured.
The first-alarm accident happened just before 11 a.m.
Paramedics from both Scottsdale and Phoenix Fire Departments responded to the crash. The accident involved two cars, one of which ended up landing on its roof.
Of the five adult victims injured, crews transported four people to the hospital. Three of those patients had critical injuries. Phoenix firefighters say the fifth patient refused treatment.
Two of the patients were actually trapped inside a vehicle, and rescuers had to use extrication equipment to pull them out.
Phoenix police say east and westbound lanes on Thunderbird were restricted for a short time while crews cleared the scene.
