MARICOPA, Ariz. -- Maricopa police are investigating a shooting death at Arizona Grain.

At approximately 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, police received a call reporting that a worker had been shot.

Officers responded to the company located at 38501 W. Cowtown Road and found a 26-year-old male employee with gunshot wounds. The victim was found in the off-load area along with several shell casings from what appears to be a handgun.

Orlando Requena, of Casa Grande, was pronounced dead at the scene.

He worked as a trainman for Arizona Grain and had been employed there for two years.

Police said the victim appears to have been targeted for unknown reasons and the incident does not appear random.

Police said the suspect was wearing a ski mask, has a medium build and is 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall.

It is unknown how many other employees were on scene at the time of the shooting.

Police said they are not aware of any arguing prior to the incident and there were no signs of a struggle.

Requena's family released the following statement: "He was a loving father and hard worker, always wanted to provide for them, and always wanted to look out for his family."

The Maricopa Police Department and the Pinal County Attorney’s Office are asking for the public’s assistance regarding any vehicles seen parked on Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway near Arizona Grain between the hours of 2:30 a.m. and 2:45 a.m.

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and/or indictment of the suspect.
