CHANDLER -- A Little Caesars employee was grazed by a bullet during an attempted robbery early Friday afternoon.

It happened at the store at 2992 N. Alma School Road in Chandler.

Witnesses say two armed men entered the store and attempted to rob it. A customer came in and startled the men, who ran to a car waiting behind the store.

Store employees chased the suspects outside. The suspects shot at the employees, grazing one in the chin. Another employee hit the car with a flier rack, breaking the windshield.

The injured employee was treated at the scene.

Police say the men fled in a white 4-door Nissan.

According to Chandler police Sgt. Joe Favazzo, two suspects were later taken into custody in the area of Frye Road and Arizona Avenue.

They have been identified as Patrick Ryan Mendoza, 19, and Kye James Henry Harding, 25.

They were both charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon, kidnapping and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Chandler, Mesa and Gilbert police officers are comparing cases to determine if these suspects are connected to a series of armed robberies in Mesa and Gilbert.
