PRESCOTT, Ariz. -- An 18-year-old student at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University was arrested after a small explosion was reported in a parking lot near the dorms on the Prescott campus Tuesday morning.

James Guy Levine, of White Plains, N.Y., was booked into Yavapai County Jail in Prescott. He faces charges of misconduct involving explosives, endangerment, disruption of an educational facility and marijuana-related offenses.

Prescott police responded to the campus at approximately 5:30 a.m. Officers and campus security discovered a burn mark in the parking lot but did not see anyone in the area, according to Lt. Ken Morley with the Prescott Police Department. They recovered items believed to be related to the incident.

Morley said there was no damage and no one was injured.

Later in the day, school security received an anonymous tip that Levine may have been involved in the incident. A search warrant was served on his dorm room and evidence was seized.

Morley said there are no indications of any other students being involved with this incident and no other potential hazards were discovered in the dormitory area.

The investigation is ongoing.
