PHOENIX -- The library at Longview Elementary school is getting a face lift.

“It's definitely more alive, there's more stuff going on, so it's pretty exciting yesterday it was pretty plain and today is a lot more exciting and I think it's a cool environment,” said Dan Fleming, who was painting one of the walls.

Volunteers from KPMG, an audit, tax and advisory firm, are donating their time painting, reupholstering chairs and adding new seating to promote the importance of reading.

“Lots of children in low income schools don't have books in their homes, so we're working with them to not just have books in the school, but to make sure children have books to take home and keep as well,” said Helen Penksa-Harding with KPMG.

KPMG is the hat sponsor for pro-golfers Phil Mickelson and Stacy Lewis, and when they win, local schools win.

“For every win that they have, whatever town they're playing in, that office will pick a school to refurbish,” said Penksa-Harding.

Earlier this year, Stacy won the RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup in Phoenix. The consulting firm is also donating 5,000 books to help fill the newly refurbished library.
