PHOENIX -- A Valley man has some surprising visitors in his attic -- a family of bobcats.

Fred Greenshaw does not go to his attic often, but he went up there to grab an ice cream maker for his daughter's birthday. Instead, he found himself looking straight into the eyes of a bobcat.

"I heard that real low growl so I stopped what I was doing and I climbed back down," Greenshaw said.

He says he also heard something coming from behind some boxes.

"I could hear a baby crying," he said.

It turns out that the green-eyed wild animal is not alone in the attic of the man's north Phoenix home. She has babies up there she is protecting.

Greenshaw has been a little jumpy the past three days. Even his cat is on edge.

The bobcat shows no signs of leaving and nobody wants to go in after it so the homeowners are getting creative.

Greenshaw put a boom box up there, hoping to bother the bobcat family down. 3TV joined him as he waited, but the bobcat did not budge.

Greenshaw managed to get back up to the attic and snap photographs.

"I make sure that I don't just look it in the eyes," he said.

Now they are all just looking to the ladder, hoping the bobcat climbs down.

"I don't want to see any harm come to them, but I'm serving the eviction notice," he said.

He says he called the Arizona Game and Fish to try to help him get the bobcat out they said he had to call a critter remover.

Greenshaw says he did that but tells 3TV the cost is several hundred dollars so he is just hoping the bobcat leaves on her own.
