With the holidays in full swing, chances are you will be dressing up at least once for that special occasion, so I decided to see what budget beauty items are out there to help us go glam for less.  Take a look at what I found….

For the Hair:

*GlamFans Chic Spirit Accessories – This is an online vendor that enables you to custom design your fancy headband, hair clip and more.  Headbands range in price from $12 to $20 and once you select which style you like, you can then custom order the color and it will be shipped to you.  I love headbands and pretty hair clips because you can easily go from a day to night look in just a few minutes.  Order from www.glamfans.com.

*Kate Middleton Look A Like headband – This headband is made by Karina and it sells at Walgreens for only $8.  It looks just like a hat that we see Kate Middleton wear, but it is instead a simple headband.  Fun!

*Add bangs in a flash with the Hairdo Clip On Bangs by Jessica Simpson and Ken Paves.  I have seen similar fake bangs that sell for over $30, but you can get this line on Amazon for only $13.99 at this link -- http://www.amazon.com/Hairdo-Clip-In-Bangs-Jessica-Simpson/dp/B004IM8IB4.  You can change up your hair style in an instant and I think that they look natural, too.

*To get your hair as shiny as J Lo’s magnificent mane, you can now purchase a line that was created by her personal hair stylist, Frederic Fekkai and it sells at Walgreens for only $27.99 for the Fekkai Glossing Starter Set.  You get a set of three products that include a glossing shampoo, conditioner and glossing cream and this line restores shine to normal or dull hair with ingredients that include pure olive oil.  Use your Walgreens Balance Rewards card and get a dollar off, too!

*For a subtle glitter highlight on your style, try Rusk Being Sexy Glitter Hairspray that sells at Backstage Salon & Spa, located on McClintock and Guadalupe, for $9 a bottle.  Because it is a professional product, it isn’t as heavy as the drug store brands.  Plus the glitter can be easily shampooed away, while some of the cheaper brands leave residue behind for a few days after shampooing.

For the Eyes:

*L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Million Lashes Diamonds ($8.99 at Walgreens) – J Lo has teamed up with L’Oreal to offer some glam beauty products this holiday season and this mascara doesn’t disappoint! With each stroke, your lashes get length, color and sparkle with glitter that looks like diamonds.  This is definitely a fancy finishing touch that will enhance your holiday best!  It is a limited edition, so grab a tube today at your local Walgreens.

*Get ten sparkly holiday eye shadows in one compact case for only $2!  The Color Canvas sells for $1.99 at Walgreens and has soft and festive shades.

For the Lips

*L’Oreal Infallible Le Gloss in a festive and sparkly red is the perfect holiday shade and it comes with a sponge applicator that covers the entire lip.  This is a limited edition holiday color that sells at Walgreens for $9.99.  It also promises to last for 8 hours.

For the Nails

*I love this line because the colors are festive and pretty and your purchase gives back to fight Diabetes.  Created by a mom who has a little girl with Type 1 Diabetes, the Tips4Type1 nail polish comes in a shimmery silver called Tips of Steel and a beautiful blue shade thoughtfully named True Blue Hope.  You get the set of two for $20 + $4.95 for shipping and handling.  So the money you spend on these terrific holiday nail shades pays for two bottles of polish, ground shipping plus a $10 donation to the Diabetes Research Institute!  Give back while you glam up your nails!

*Sally Hansen Salon Insta Gel Strips is popular because I’m told that gals can easily achieve those beloved gel nails in two easy steps, without going to a salon.  The Sally Hansen starter kit costs $31.99 and comes with a 1 watt mini LED lamp, 16 gel polish strips, a gel top coat, 2 gel cleaner pads, a cuticle stick, a file and a buffer.  Once you spend the $32 on the starter kit, you only need to buy the gel strips from that point on.  Those sell in many different shades and styles for $15.99 for a box of 16 strips, a gel top coat, cleansing pads, a cuticle stick and a file buffer.  The box says that the strips remove easily with acetone polish remover.  ***I must tell you that I have not personally tried these, but I’m told that several Walgreens customers were pleased with the results.

*Lingerie for your nails is what L’Oreal has thought of!  The Colour Riche Nail Lingerie are 3D stickers that go over any nail polish, including gel, for a finished sparkly holiday look.  Easy to apply, simply stick on with no dry time and the package says that they last up to 10 days.  Fun! A package of 18 nail stickers sells for $8.99 at Walgreens.

For the Body

*For a last second pretty accessory that can be worn multiple ways, you can’t beat a good scarf and Walgreens has an abundance of pretty colors for only $5.99 each.  Use a scarf around your neck, as a belt, a pretty shawl to warm you in your sleeveless holiday dress and more.

*Kim Kardashian has a fancy line of perfumes that sell in department stores, but Walgreens has a set of four small bottles that fit perfectly in your evening purse for only $19.99.  This is an $80 value, so you will smell nice and save money at the same time.

*Last but not least, I have to give another shout out to Jennifer Lopez because every time I wear her line, I always get compliments and I love telling people that I found her affordable and flattering dresses, tops and bottoms at Kohl’s!  I love J Lo's fashion line that is sold at Kohl's.  Plus she has some sequined holiday styles that not only look good, but flatter figures with curves, too.
