Nutty Sweet Potato Casserole

She posts free recipes and blogs about culinary history each week. She's a regular culinary contributor to PBS Food and writes The Shiksa in the Kitchen, a Jewish cooking website. Her recipe for Nut and Sweet Potato Casserole is adapted from a 1943 cookbook called Cooking on a Ration: Food is Still Fun, by Marjorie Mills. It uses oranges and maple syrup as a substitute for the sugar that was being rationed during the war.

Veterans Day Parade
The Veterans Day parade starts at 11 a.m. and runs northbound on Seventh Street from the Phoenix VA Health Care System turning westbound on Camelback Road, then northbound on Central Avenue to Bethany Home Road, where it will de-stage at North Phoenix Baptist Church.
