Tim Ring, Sports
Tim Ring joined 3TV as the station's Sports Director in May, 2009 and immediately established himself as one of top sportscasters in the Valley. In 2011 Ring was named Arizona Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NSSA) while also earning "Best Sportscaster in the Valley - 2011" honors from Arizona Foothills Magazine.
Prior to joining 3TV, Ring garnered a wealth of broadcasting experience. Most recently, he served as the main sports anchor at Fox Sports Net in Denver. At FSN, Ring filled a variety of roles including anchoring the Rocky Mountain Sports Report, hosting pre and postgame shows for the Nuggets, Rockies and Avalanche and working as a sideline reporter for Denver Bronco pre-season football. Ring's duties at FSN also included play-by-play work as the voice of the University of Colorado and University of Denver men's and women's basketball teams and Colorado Rockies spring training baseball.
Prior to joining FSN in Denver, Ring spent three years at WAMI-TV in Miami where he anchored a half-hour nightly sports show, as well as hosting pre and postgame shows for the Miami Heat and Florida Marlins.
Ring's stops also included a stint as sports director at WLUK-TV in Green Bay. At WLUK, Ring covered two Packer trips to the Super Bowl and for three years hosted the critically acclaimed Brett Favre Show.
Ring's work through the years also landed him on the national stage. For three seasons he served as a sideline reporter for the NFL on Fox, and for three years, Ring hosted The FSN Baseball Report, a nationally televised baseball week in review show on Fox Sports Net.
Ring began his career as a producer at WGN-TV in Chicago, a position he held for five years.
A native of Chicago, Ring is a graduate of DePaul University. He and his wife, Fay, have identical twin sons, Connor and Dylan, and a daughter, Dodger.
