Emmy-nominated anchor Kirsten Joyce joins 3TV as the weekend co-anchor of "Good Evening Arizona" and is also a dayside reporter. Joyce was born in the Netherlands, and grew up on Mercer Island, Wash. Her parents and sister still live in the Seattle area. She most recently moved to Phoenix from Reno, Nev., where she spent the past six years anchoring the CBS affiliate's morning show. She loved brightening up people's mornings and jump-starting their day. Now she's ecstatic to be part of the Arizona community, and catch up on six years of missed sleep. Joyce covered education stories and hosted a unique segment called "Adventures on the Edge." You name it she tried it -- including white water rafting, dog sledding, rock crawling, wind surfing, and ice fishing. She's excited to discover the amazing outdoor recreation that Arizona has to offer. Joyce also loves to emcee events. She spent many years working with the Education Collaborative, Big Brothers/Big Sisters Network, and reading to children. She's also a big advocate for an organization that helps pet owners pay their emergency vet bills. She enjoys giving back to the community and becoming part of the place she calls home. She looks forward to establishing similar roots here in Phoenix Joyce graduated with a broadcast journalism degree from the University of Washington. She's been in the television business since 1995, starting as an intern in Yakima, Wash. Joyce then secured her first reporting job in Kennewick, Wash., as a one-man band reporter. Prior to securing her morning anchor job in Reno, Joyce made her way to a start-up Fox affiliate in Spokane, Wash, where she covered stories on the serial killer who plagued that region. Joyce recently got married at Lake Tahoe, Nev. Her husband's family traveled from Germany to attend the wedding. She and her husband are raising his beautiful daughter together. They love traveling, boating, hiking, and discovering new places.
