Throughout her career, Cruz has had the opportunity to interview a variety of high-profile people. Among her most memorable are chats with Erin Brockovich, Steve Forbes and John McCain in 2008.

Cruz is from Sacramento, Calif., and graduated from the University of California-Irvine in 2005 with a degree in psychology.
After graduation, she spent weeks in Thailand. She volunteered cleaning up debris from Phi Phi Island after it was hit by a tsunami in 2004.
Thailand was not Cruz's first foray abroad. She has traveled the world, including Australia, Spain, France, Amsterdam, Costa Rica, Korea and Mexico.
In addition to travel, Cruz is passionate about volunteering. Her favorite organization is TROTT USA, a nonprofit organization that specializes in finding homes for retired thoroughbred race horses.
