11-Year-Old Haile Thomas  from Tucson is a  leader in the Fight Against Childhood Obesity.
And now she's helping to change the Kids' menu at all Hyatt hotels.
Haile is one of only 20 youth who sit on the Alliance for a Healthier Generation youth advisory board -- founded by the American Heart Association and the William J. Clinton Foundation -- whose mission focuses on childhood obesity issues and empowering youth to make healthy lifestyle choices.
In addition to her work with the alliance and other organizations, Haile has her own online cooking show called "Kids Can Cook" where she creates and demonstrates healthy and tasty dishes that won't have kids pushing their plates away.  She has been interested in food since she was five years old.   Haile, along with American culinary pioneer Alice Waters, have teamed up with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts to develop a kids' menu, "For Kids, By Kids" that includes simple, seasonal (not frozen) ingredients  to keep kids on track for a healthier lifestyle. The new menu is inspired by the sophistication of today's generation of children and developed to support Hyatt's responsible eating philosophy, Food. Thoughtfully Sourced, Carefully Served.
Sample menu items include cinnamon pancakes made from granola, maple syrup and fruit sauces, "Top Your Own Taco" with whole wheat tortilla, "Shaken Chopped Salad," sustainable fish, and Haile's favorite, grilled natural beef.
