Phoenix Comic Con
Phoenix Comic Con is the signature pop culture experience of the southwest. June 5 -8, 2014 at the Phoenix Convention Center. We present the chance for fans like yourself to meet with your favorite creators, actors, authors and get their autograph. Festivities kick off Thursday afternoon and continue throughout the weekend.

Former Baywatch star Gena Lee Nolin will serve as an honorary lifeguard in the RAMTRUCKS.COM Pool for a couple of innings and will sign autographs for fans from 5:00-6:00PM along the main concourse in front of section 131.

of auction/storage space. The auction will feature vintage collectible pin ball machines, arcade games, slot machines and much more from a Camelback Mountain mansion

FREE Beach Parties
The Phoenix Parks and Recreation and Fire departments are hosting four Itty Bitty Beach Parties this summer at four city pools. The parties are geared towards children 6 years and under and their families. Thanks to the generous support of Cigna, these poolside beach parties offer free admission.
Each Itty Bitty Beach Party runs from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
The free beach parties will begin on Friday, June 6 at Paradise Valley Pool, 17648 N. 40th St.

Anti-Smoking Youth Conference
More than 200 anti-smoking youth advocates from every corner of Arizona will gather this Friday, June 6 to Sunday, June 8 to gain insights and inspiration for continued advocacy work in their communities. The three-day agenda is jam-packed with workshops and sessions including insightful presentations from featured speaker, Victor J. DeNoble, Ph.D., the former associate senior scientist in the Behavioral Research Department at Phillip Morris Tobacco Co. This weekend Dr. DeNoble will be a featured speaker at the opening session and throughout the weekend. A detailed schedule follows.

Special military themed ceremony (color guard, pledge, and anthem) will feature remarks from D-Day Navy Veteran George Pillman who as a young Lieutenant steered Landing Craft Tank LCT614 to Omaha Beach some 70 years ago. Pillman will speak to the D-Day Invasion of June 6, 1944 sharing photos and memorabilia.

50th anniversary of the U.S. Civil Rights Act
Arizona marking 50 years of Civil Rights Act with a press conference will be held Friday, June 6, to announce several Arizona events marking the 50th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Civil Rights Act of 1964.
