NEW DELHI (AP) — There's a second arrest in the latest high-profile sex crimes case in India.

Police say a 19-year-old garment factory worker has been arrested in the eastern state of Bihar, in the rape of a 5-year-old girl. Police say she was left for dead in a locked room.

They say the first man arrested in the case led them to the second suspect.

The two are accused of abducting, raping and attempting to murder the 5-year old. She disappeared a week ago, and was found two days later by neighbors who heard her crying in a locked room in the same building in New Delhi where she lives with her family.

The girl was in critical condition when she was transferred Thursday to the largest government-run hospital in India. Doctors today say she's responding well to treatment and that her condition has stabilized.

The attack came four months after the fatal gang rape of a woman on a bus in New Delhi sparked outrage across India about the treatment of women there.
