OSLO, Norway (AP) — A Norwegian energy company says three of its Norwegian employees who were missing after the terror attack on a gas plant in Algeria have been confirmed dead.

The company, Statoil ASA, gave no details about the victims or the circumstances leading to their discovery.

Two other company employees are still missing in the aftermath of the attack, which resulted in a four-day siege by Algerian forces.

An organization affiliated with al-Qaida has claimed responsibility.

Algerian authorities have said at least 37 hostages and 29 militants were killed. The attack sent scores of foreign energy workers fleeing across the Sahara Desert.

It's not clear whether the three Norwegians identified today were among the missing, or whether their bodies had been found earlier and were just now being identified.
