LAGOS, Nigeria (AP) — A Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Lagos has landed safely after declaring an emergency over a problem with its landing gear.
The emergency management director for Lagos state says the Airbus A330 aircraft landed safely just after 1 p.m. local time with no injuries.
The director-general of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority tells The Associated Press that the flight declared an emergency prior to its arrival to Lagos. He said firefighting equipment and personnel had been put on alert for the plane's arrival at Lagos' Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
