APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. -- An Apache Junction woman suffered serious injuries Saturday night after a fire broke out in a mobile home.

Fire fighters responded just before 11:30 p.m. to find the home fully engulfed in flames.

The woman, who was the only one inside the residence, was sleeping in the back of the home when the fire broke out.

The woman's husband came home just in time to pull her to safety, but she still wound up suffering second-degree burns to 25 percent of her body.

The woman was subsequently flown from the home to the Maricopa County Burn Center.

The woman's son, Frank Stratton, said he's thankful the fire didn't take his mother's life.

"She's hanging in there, still alive, thankful for that," said Stratton.

Stratton said the Red Cross has offered his family a hotel for a couple of nights, but they're not sure what they will do after that.

Investigators continue to examine the cause of the fire.
