ST. JOHNS, Ariz. -- Personnel from the Arizona Humane Society were deployed to the Wallow Fire.

The Arizona Humane Society's emergency shelter team, in partnership with the Show Low Police Department and Show Low Animal Care, have established a small-animal shelter for evacuated community members who do not have a place to take their pets.

The shelter is located at 1181 E. Thornton Road in Show Low. Emergency personnel will assist in shelter, rescue and medical operations.

Two other staff members were deployed to St. Johns where they will assist with large animal rescue/recovery efforts.
