WICKENBURG, Ariz. -- 9-1-1 service has been restored for residents of Wickenburg and Circle City.
A spokesperson for CenturyLink said a severed fiber line was repaired around 6:45pm in a remote area of the desert about 8-miles outside Circle City, not far from Wickenburg. Officials are looking into a possible case of vandalism as the reason the line was cut.
Earlier today the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said the cut fiber line was preventing people from reaching the emergency response service. Anyone who needed to call 9-1-1 could have called MCSO at 928-684-1601.
CenturyLink said the cut could have left some customers without any phone service.
The problem was first detected sometime between 1 and 1:30 Sunday afternoon.
