MESA, Ariz. – A unique chair was stolen from outside a Mesa store and the owner is hoping the person who took it will bring it back.
Brown's Upholstery has been in the Valley for about 24 years. When the economy slowed down, the owner decided to create two chairs to drive people into his stores.
The chairs are oversized, purple and have faces. However, one of those faces now has tears.
"We put them out in front of our stores and people liked them because they're happy, they're real fresh-looking, and they would sit on them and take their pictures," said store owner Pete Lopez. "They'd come into the store or call us because they saw the chairs out in front of our stores."
Mon-chairee was outside the original location near Horne and Brown Road. When the employees got to work Monday morning, it was gone.
Chair-lene sits outside a second store location at University Drive and Longmore where Lopez pleaded for Mon-chairee's return Thursday morning.
"It's supposed to be at that store, it really is," he said. "People like it at that store."
Lopez filed a police report, but there are no witnesses or suspects at this time.
Anyone with information on the chair's whereabouts should call 480-827-2749.
