EL MIRAGE, Ariz. -- The woman suspected of murdering a man on Thanksgiving Day has been located and taken into police custody.

The El Mirage Police Department said Rachel Smith, 27, was found at a home in Peoria and arrested without incident on Thursday.

Smith is believed to have shot and killed 29-year-old Tod Guiles.

According to police, Guiles had recently been released from prison after serving time on drug charges, and had gotten into an argument with Smith the day before Thanksgiving.

El Mirage Detectives working in conjunction with Valley law enforcement and the U.S. Marshalls Task Force were able to use several leads to locate Smith in Peoria.

She has been booked into the Maricopa County Jail on one count of second-degree murder and aggravated assault.
