The Valley will bid farewell Tuesday to 3TV’s helicopter pilot Scott Bowerbank and photographer Jim Cox.

Friends, family and members of the community will honor the journalists who were known for their passionate approach to life.

The Bowerbank and Cox families are holding a joint public memorial service at North Phoenix Baptist Church, 5757 N. Central Ave., inside the main worship center.

Cox and Bowerbank were killed Friday when the NewsChopper 3 helicopter collided with Channel 15’s helicopter while covering a chase in downtown Phoenix.

The event will be covered by Channel 3 live and streamed on azfamily.com.

The memorial service for Craig Smith will be Thursday at 10 a.m. La Casa de Cristo Lutheran Church 6300 E. Bell Road, Scottsdale.

The memorial for Rick Krolak will be Saturday, Aug. 4 at 10 a.m. First United Methodist Church 5510 N. Central Ave., Phoenix.
