PHOENIX (AP) -- Authorities say a Phoenix couple escaped without injuries when their house's garage caught fire Monday morning.
It happened in the area of Seventh Place and Union Hills Drive.
The Phoenix Fire Department says the man woke up around 3 a.m. when he heard a large popping noise from the garage area.
According to the Fire Department, the man saw a glow from under a door and smoke coming from the doorjamb.
He didn't open the door, and fire officials said that kept the fire from spreading into the rest of the house.
The man and his wife ran out of the back of the house.
A neighbor captured video of the flames as they ripped through the garage.
The couple reportedly moved into the home at the beginning of the year and had just finished remodeling.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
