Band hosting free concert Saturday

PHOENIX -- The fight against bullying is getting a big advocate from the music world this week. The boy band After Romeo has kicked off their anti-bullying tour "Bully Proof."

They are touring western states trying to give teenagers a platform to discuss being bullied.

So, what do Blake English, TC Carter, Jayk Purdy, Drew Ryan Scott and Devin Fox know about being bullied? The five young men from Los Angeles explain they were the kids who loved music and were in the choir but were made fun of.

They not only go into schools and share their music, but also start a conversation hoping kids will discuss being bullied. Scott said it's working.

"We get students who tell us their stories on social media after we leave," he said.

The group has been performing at different Valley schools all week. On Saturday, they are throwing a free concert at Tempe Marketplace at 6 p.m.
