PHOENIX (AP) -- This year's All-Star game is filled with so many good pitchers, it's almost as if the two managers couldn't go wrong in picking a starter.

They certainly won't get many complaints for choosing Roy Halladay and Jered Weaver.

Halladay, the ace of aces in Philadelphia, on Tuesday will join Vida Blue, Roger Clemens and Randy Johnson as the only pitchers to start the All-Star game in both leagues.

Halladay started in 2009 with Toronto. NL manager Bruce Bochy said it was an easy decision to tab the right-hander, 11-3 with a 2.45 ERA.

Weaver, the lanky ace of the Angels, was a fairly obvious choice for AL manager Ron Washington, too.

The right-hander is 11-4 with a majors-best 1.86 ERA while throwing four of his eight career complete games this season.
