"AMERICAN IDOL" RYAN'S HOPE: TO STAY BEYOND CONTRACT?
PASADENA, California (AP) -- Again the question is being asked about Ryan Seacrest: is he or isn't he? And so far both the "American Idol" host and Fox are being coy about their answers. Both Seacrest and the network are agreeing they want to be together after Seacrest's contract expires after this season. The head of Fox Entertainment says he expects the talks will come to a conclusion "pretty quickly." While he says he loves his job at Idol, Seacrest is involved in talks with owners of NBC Universal, where he has a deal at E! Entertainment. There have been reports that NBC is thinking about using Seacrest on the "Today" show if Matt Lauer decides to live. Seacrest says such talk is "flattering" but he isn't trying to take anyone's job.
