Photos: 10 fattest states in U.S. by 2030
The United States is in the midst of an obesity epidemic, with more than 35 percent of adults and almost 20 percent of children considered obese. While recent studies suggest the problem may have reached its plateau, a new study from Trust for America's Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation suggests things are only going to get worse over the next two decades. The report, "F as in Fat: How Obesity Threatens America's Future 2012" analyzed existing data to project the obesity rates for each U.S. state by 2030. And the future looks bleak: 13 states could have adult obesity rates above 60 percent, 39 states could have rates above 50 percent, and all 50 states could have rates above 44 percent. Even the current thinnest state in the country - Colorado, with an obesity rate of almost 21 percent - is expected to have its rate climb to nearly 50 percent by 2030. Which states will be the fattest by 2030? Keep clicking to find out the top 10... - CBS News
