PHOENIX -- Police are searching for a man who used a machete to threaten a convenience store clerk while helping himself to some beer over the weekend. Investigators need your help to identify the suspect.
According to police, a "Hispanic appearing" male between 16 and 20 years old walked into the Circle K at 32nd and Roosevelt streets about 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
The man grabbed a 30-pack and an 18-pack of beer out of a cooler, said Officer James Holmes in a news alert. As the suspect walked past the front counter to leave the store, he pulled out a machete and threatened the cashier.
"We are concerned that this suspect's brazen actions may lead to serious injury in the future," Holmes stated in an email.
The incident was caught on surveillance video. Police extracted some still frames of the suspect.
The man is between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 6 inches tall with a medium building. He was wearing a white T-shirt and tan-and-black checkered long shorts. He has a mustache and was armed with a machete.
