Ahhhh…it’s always a conundrum….where to place talent when you take them out of the studio. We ended up at the gorgeous Royal Palms! At first Shane was reluctant but after his location scout he agreed there were a ton of options to choose from. We ended up in the Algeria Lawn and Garden area. It is normally used for weddings and one look will tell you why. But to be honest the whole place is teeming with areas perfect for any special occasion, large or small. And eating at T. Cook’s is always a special occasion in itself! As you’ll see from the pictures, I found Tara and Scott hanging out at the best place in T. Cook’s as they tried to keep warm before braving the brisk outdoors!
Much thanks to the Royal Palms for the gracious hospitality!
Royal Palms Resort
5200 E. Camelback Road
The Royal Palms Inn, named for the towering palms lining the entryway, was built in 1929 as a summer retreat for Cunard Steamship executive and financier Delos Cooke, nephew of icon and financier J.P. Morgan. The home eventually opened to guests in the winter of 1948.
The resort was a preferred address for travelers booking winter visits and earned a reputation when celebrities such as Helena Rubenstein and Groucho Marx, began staying at the hotel.
The resort underwent a multimillion dollar restoration, re-opening in the summer of 1997 and features 119 custom-appointed casitas and guestrooms covering over 20,000 square feet.
Our spot was perfect except for one thing: the sun was facing the wrong direction. We had to supplement Mother Nature with some lighting of our own. Many thanks to the great folks at The Royal Palms for their hospitality; they were a joy to work with.
