PHOENIX -- Paradise Vally runner Ivan Steber could end up making history at this year's 3TV Phoenix 10K.
Brittney Shipp introduces us to Steber, a man who, in the history books or not, is an inspiration to all.
Steber lost part of his leg in an accident when he was a teenager, but he learned at an early age that giving up is never an option.
The challenge to set a world record came from Steber's wife, who read about the current record holder. Steber has been training for a year. The time to beat is 37:54.
Steber said on a good day, he can run a 10K in about 37 minutes, which is good enough to claim the record.
Join Dr. Art Mollen and members of the 3TV family, including Shipp, Sunday for a unique road race through the heart of the city to benefit a cause close to our hearts -- wiping out childhood obesity.
The 3TV Phoenix 10K has grown in popularity since it humble beginnings 36 years ago.
