GLENDALE, Ariz. -- A woman and her 16-year-old daughter are recovering from injuries they suffered when four people, including three men, attacked them at an apartment complex Monday night.

Azaira Ibarra suffered a broken orbital bone, cuts that required stitches, bruises, and a fractured jaw. Her mother will need two metal plates for her broken jaw, which will be wired shut to heal.

They were walking back to their home at the Park West Apartments, when the four people began yelling racial slurs at them. Azaira yelled back, and was attacked seconds later. Her mother tried to break up the fight, but was also jumped.

"I was seeing everything, and it was frustrating, because at least two people were on me, and I couldn't do much."

Glendale Police say the suspects range in age from 12 to 18. Detectives have a good idea who they are, but they have been hiding.

"Investigators already made contact with the victims, and have developed good information, which they're pursuing now. This is a totally solvable crime," said Sgt. Brent Coombs.

Detectives are also investigating whether the suspects are responsible for several other crimes in the area of Bethany Home and 43rd Avenue.

If convicted of aggravated assault in Ibarra's case, they could face several years in prison.
