CHANDLER, Ariz. -- With less than three weeks to go until Election Day, one of the most-watched Senate races in the country -- Jeff Flake vs. Richard Carmona -- is extremely tight.

The race has been a contentious one with attack ads coming from both sides.

In September, Carmona was leading Flake, 44 percent to 39 percent with 16 percent undecided.

What a difference a few weeks can make.

According to the latest poll from Real Clear Politics, Flakes now holds a slight lead over Carmona -- 43.3 percent to 42.5 percent.

With the race for retiring Sen. Jon Kyl's seat so close, today's debate was scheduled to give voters another opportunity to hear from both candidates.

The two faced off Monday in Tucson, tackling a variety of issues, including the DREAM Act, immigration, Medicare, and taxes, among others.

Recent ads have focused on the candidates' pasts, turning the race into a debate of character.

3TV Political Editor and "Politics Unplugged" co-host Dennis Welch was at the debate and will have a recap later this afternoon.
