PHOENIX -- Proposition 115 would change the way state judges, along with Superior Court judges, in Maricopa, Pima and Pinal counties are selected. It also would impact how long they may serve, and what information voters would have.
Proponents say it would widen the pool of candidates, give a greater voice to elected officials, and give voters more information about judges when they decide whether or not they should be retained.
Opponents say the system we have works great, removes political bias, and is a model for other states around the nation. Mark Harrison, a former State Bar president and attorney, argues against 115. State lawmaker Justin Pierce argues for it.
