PHOENIX (AP) — Arizona voters could be asked to extend lawmakers' terms from two years to four years.

The House will consider the measure in Committee of the Whole on Thursday. Lawmakers will be allowed to offer amendments before the House takes a preliminary vote. If approved, a formal vote would come another day.

The resolution is sponsored by Republican Rep. Andy Tobin of Paulden. Lawmakers would continue to be limited to eight consecutive years in the House or Senate.
