TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is urging college students to solve all kinds of problems, and be part of the "participation generation."

Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, are joining their daughter Chelsea in Arizona this weekend at an annual meeting of college students who are trying to tackle global challenges.

The Clinton Global Initiative University is drawing more than 1,000 students from about 300 colleges and universities.

The Clintons were joined Friday night by Arizona Sen. John McCain. On Sunday, they'll work with Gabby Giffords, the former Arizona congresswoman, at a community service project.

McCain was the GOP's 2008 presidential nominee. Hillary Clinton is considering a presidential campaign for 2016.
