NEW YORK (AP) — The presidential campaign is looking more and more like a battle of television attack ads, and the parties haven't even had their nominating conventions yet.
Republican challenger Mitt Romney took out after President Barack Obama in an interview broadcast today, saying Obama's campaign is running commercials that perpetuate lies about him. Obama struck back by saying voters should expect to see a lot more negative ads from the Romney camp before the race for the White House is settled.
Romney said on Bill Bennett's "Morning in America" radio show that he doesn't know, in his words, "whatever happened to a campaign of hope and change" that Obama ran four years ago in winning the presidency.
