TEMPE, Ariz. -- A new picture has surfaced of missing ASU student Jack Culolias, taken in the hour before he disappeared, the night of Nov. 30th.
Grace Culolias told 3TV a sorority sister sent her the picture which shows her son at his fraternity event at the bar of Cadillac Ranch surrounded by people. It’s believed the picture was taken around 10:04 pm, according to Grace.
Police believe Jack Culolias was escorted out of the bar some time after that. Nearly two weeks later, it’s still not known where the 19-year-old went next, or with whom he was last seen.
“Somebody needs to talk,” said Grace Culolias. “They know something.”
“As I’ve been saying, a 19-year-old, 6 foot tall kid does not just disappear from a bar where there are 100 kids,” said Culolias.
Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity brothers have said they did not see Jack Culolias leave.
Tempe police said they’re still reviewing surveillance video from the bar and surrounding businesses.
They’re also still trying to talk to people who may have been at the bar that night.
“Right now we have nothing that gives us any clue of where to go,” said Sgt. Mike Pooley of Tempe Police. “Nothing can be ruled out. We have to think about everything possible that could have happened to Jack.”
The day after Jack Culolias disappeared, Grace Culolias said she was contacted by fraternity members.
ASU police began investigating on Sunday, searching the campus and fraternity related locations.
“The way ASU handled it, they believed it was a frat type deal, something they could handle very easily,” said Sgt. Pooley.
Tempe police took over the investigation Tuesday, the same day Grace Culolias found one of her son’s shoes near Salt River. That discovery prompted a search which lasted for days, but no new clues were uncovered.
As of now, Tempe police have stopped searching that area, but volunteer search groups have not.
“I can’t thank them enough,” said Grace Culolias. “I don’t think any of us will rest until we know and find Jack.”
