PHOENIX -- Imagine being able to eliminate chronic pain, look younger and feel great in just ten minutes a day.
That's what the so-called "melt method" is all about. Author Sue Hitzmann wrote the book "The Melt Method", and she visited Thursday's Good Morning Arizona set to show Scott Pasmore what it's all about.
"It addresses the missing link to healthy living," Hitzmann says. "Diet and exercise do not eliminate chronic pain."
The melt method targets the body's connective tissue, where "stuck stress" from daily living manifests in chronic pain.
"Connective tissue becomes dehydrated," she says. "It starts out as joint stiffness that you get when you sit for a long period of time. It starts to accumulate, and it's what causes low grade inflammation."
The method can also help eliminate pain from injury, illness, childbirth, and the repetitive movements of day-to-day living. It's a series of easy, precise movements that use a soft body roller and small balls.
"There are techniques that you can do on your hands and your feet," she says. "It's that simple just to create compression. The cells of your connective tissue are really reactive to certain types of light-touch compression."
Melt works to re-hydrate connective tissue and re-balance nervous system regulation, as well as boost the body's natural healing and repair mechanisms. "It literally takes ten minutes a day," Hitzmann promises.
For those who suffer from arthritis, the melt hand treatment can offer immediate relief and greater mobility. Patients with chronic lower back pain, digestion or sleep problems can also find relief from the treatment.
