SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Bob's Biker Blast is Saturday Oct. 20, starting at 10 a.m. at Harley-Davidson of Scottsdale and Go AZ Motorcycles, 15500 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale.
The event will introduce a state-of-the-art simulator designed to let a rider know what it truly feels like to ride a motorcycle. The simulators were originally designed for the U.S. military. This is the first commercial use.
Scott Pasmore got a sneak peek at the simulator and the lowdown from GoDaddy.com founder and Harley-Davidson of Scottsdale/Go AZ Motorcycles owner Bob Parsons.
“If you have never ridden a motorcycle before, this is your chance to get a really good idea of what it’s like without actually getting on a moving bike,” Parsons says in a news release. “You won’t find a motorcycle simulator like this outside of a few military bases.”
Pasmore, who also loves riding, tried the simulator out and said it was more difficult than he expected.
Parsons, a motorcycle enthusiast, said he expects thousands to check out the event, which also features food, live music and other activities.
Admission is free for riders who have a motorcycle endorsement on their driver's license. That admits the rider and one guest. Admission for everyone else is $20.
All proceeds from the event benefit Phoenix Children's Hospital.
Parsons plans to make Bob's Biker Blast an annual event.
